Ernest B. Sheldon graduated in 1961 from Boston College Law School, receiving his Bachelor of Laws degree, which was supplanted by a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1969 and from Harvard College in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) in government. In 1961 he began a solo general law practice in Pepperell, Massachusetts which was organized as a Professional Corporation in 1979 and is now known as Sheldon Law Offices, P.C.
Attorney Sheldon has practiced throughout Eastern Massachusetts for over 46 years representing private clients in a variety of civil matters. He has also served as town counsel in Pepperell upon special request. He has also served on the Pepperell School Committee for two consecutive three year terms and helped facilitate the creation of the North Middlesex Regional School District.
Attorney Sheldon's primary areas of concentration are personal injury law and real estate matters involving land development, subdivision, zoning and the financing of the purchase of residential and commercial properties. Many of the real estate forms and documents in current use in the mortgage lending industry were created and/or redefined by him. Mr. Sheldon is a member of the Real Estate Bar of Massachusetts (REBA), formerly known as the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association. He is also past president of the North Middlesex Bar Association, and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all Massachusetts courts, the U.S. First District Court, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Sheldon also has an extensive estate planning and administration of estates practice in Massachusetts. This practice includes the preparation of wills, trust documents, powers of attorney, health care proxies, living wills, and declarations of homestead and the probate and settlement of estates.
